Frequently Asked Questions
How frequently should I book sessions?
Everyone is different and of course everyone has a different budget. Weekly sessions are good for staying on top of course content and getting regular practice in. Fortnightly sessions are good if you just need to touch base and clarify aspects of the course content. Home schooled children may have more frequent sessions.
When do sessions take place?
I fit in with you. Naturally, most children have sessions after school and in to the early evening. Some people have time during the day.
How much does it cost?
This depends on your specific needs, your location and your preferred method of delivery, but usually it works out to be around £60 per hour and payment is made in advance of the sessions.
Do you tutor during the school holidays?
Yes. I try to fit in with your requirements and can even offer a mix of online and in person sessions, in case you’re away travelling. Revision classes are also available for small groups.
Do you set homework?
If your child is at school, I don’t typically want to add to their work burden and we will cover a lot of material in the sessions. I can however, recommend resources to help consolidate learning if you wish.
What happens if I need to cancel?
In most cases, a cancelled session will be rescheduled or refunded unless it is very last minute, but the terms and conditions will be made clear upon any booking.
Do you have availability?
Get in touch to find out! I do get very busy particularly from January through to the summer exams, but if I can accommodate you then I will let you know exactly what sessions are available.
Why do you enjoy tutoring maths?
Everyone is different and finding the right way to communicate with and teach a client is always rewarding. Also meeting lots of different people in my community is great fun too!
